The Journey Of A Baby Girl Till Being A Mother has been very harsh. This is a topic rather sensitive, emotional, and relatable to every woman since it tells about the Journey Of A Baby Girl Till Being A Mother. I have always been bothered by the very word “why?” as I have been observing sensitive issues like rape, domestic violence, unequal pay jobs, child marriage, female foeticide, and many more since long just because I AM A WOMAN.
Since the advent, be it Draupadi’s Chirharan or the societal doubts regarding Sita’s chastity, which made her go (Agni Pariksha) or Padmavati’s Jauhar to avoid being raped and captured by the Mughals invading army, women are fighting for their basic fundamental rights… which not only ashames humanity but somewhere our society. Many strikes, communities had raised voice for women but all of this went in vain just because we people are more interested in politics.
These issues shake me to up to the core of my heart when I imagine this situation of women.
A woman who has been chronicling her baby’s journey for 9 months, irrespective of gender, gives birth to a cute baby girl. I don’t get why everyone is not happy in that hospital, even the father is in sorrow. He would objectify his wife demanding a boy child.#unlucky! I wouldn’t deny the fact that the abortion rate of female foetuses has decreased throughout the time due to constant petitions, passing bills & government rules but that happiness, when a boy takes birth, is unmatched in comparison when a girl child is born.
But after some days they start to love what they have, still, that void of not having a boy is not fulfilled yet. It breaks my heart. Unconsciously, I too want a boy and a girl as everyone says “That’s how you feel complete!”
In many families, until now girls are only for house chores or to get to learn knitting, mehndi, etc so that they are confined at home only. They are not allowed to go for studies. Guys this is just the start of their struggle. Getting no educational rights, no right to say” No”, child marriage when she turns 16, people believe “I think our daughter should get married now !”, that girl, barely having a clue what marriage is, without voicing out her dreams, passion, wishes, she ties a knot with someone she has hardly known, her family hand over her to the strange man. Then dowry time. Last but not least, aborting her child without having a say in the decision.
But yes a remarkable lesson is always given by a daughter’s mother to a young girl child at the time of marriage “look beti now you must do everything that your husband will ask, just say YES to everything. “PATI BHAGWAN HOTA HAI “ (Husband is God), and conceiving 5 kids even if she doesn’t want to.
WHY?
WHY can’t women be out after 8 pm? WHY can’t women take up night shifts? WHY can’t she wear clothes of her choice? WHY both men and women come from the job but only women have to take care of food and everything and men relax? WHY a woman is always questioned over her virginity while a man is allowed to sleep around with anybody he desires? WHY can’t she be independent and earn on her own? WHY haven’t you ever heard that men are giving dowry to women, or men getting raped in Delhi, or women slapped his husband and threw him out of the house at midnight… NO YOU HAVEN’T, RIGHT? Do ask yourself, WHY
But thankfully, things are changing slowly and still have a long way to go!. Women are a rebellion, they are fierce, capable of leading the way which is why the male chauvinistic society is criticizing and so jealous of it.
